We regret to inform you that as of 30th November 2024, we are no longer accepting new referrals for autism assessments and diagnosis. This includes GP referrals and self-referrals.
The combination of a significant rise in referrals and a substantial real terms fall in funding have led to the decision. We feel we have no other option, given the size of our current waiting list of over 2000 people. This will take us over 18 years to clear, therefore we cannot justify taking on any more referrals and adding to the length of time people are wating for an autism diagnosis.
Therefore, we are unable to accept and process your referral, we do understand that this is disappointing. If you still wish to proceed with a referral, we suggest making use of the Right to Choose process.
We are equally frustrated by having to make this decision. We ask that rather than direct your understandable dissatisfaction to OAADSS staff, please direct your concerns to Oxfordshire Commissioners and your local MP.
