IMPORTANT UPDATE

We sincerely apologise, but the Oxfordshire Autism Diagnostic Service is currently not able to accept new referrals for autism assessments and diagnosis as of 22/07/2024.

This includes both GP and self referrals.

We have decided to take this step due to steadily increasing very high numbers of referrals and chronic under-funding, leading to a waiting time of  over 10 years for recent referrals.

Your GP may be able to refer you to a private service provider via a scheme called Right to Choose.

We are equally frustrated by this and ask that rather than direct your understandable frustrations to OAADSS staff, help us instead by directing your concerns to the commissioners and your MP!

Oxfordshire Adult Autism Diagnostic and Support Service

The Oxfordshire Adult Autism and Support Service is a service provided for adults in the Oxfordshire area.  It consists of:

The Diagnostic service, which provides free autism assessments to adults in the Oxfordshire area – please note: as of 22 July 2024, we are not accepting new referrals for autism assessments.

Aspiration post-diagnostic support service, where individuals who have a formal autism diagnosis can get support with learning about their diagnosis, applying for benefits, signposting to other services and with requesting reasonable adjustments.  This service is also free.

Anyone looking for long term support or a formal support worker, needs to request a care needs assessment from the local authority.  Aspiration can advise who to contact to start this process.

Please note that due to room availability (the service shares office space with Autism at Kingwood) and current remote working, we do not offer drop-ins.  All support sessions and assessments need to be arranged with the administrator or facilitators in advance for a mutually convenient time.
